Diversity at VMware

8.8
8.8 rating for Diversity, based on 8 reviews
Please provide further information on diversity with respect to women, ethnic minorities and LGBT. Please comment on issues such as recruitment, retention, promotion, child care, maternity leave, etc.
The company's commitment to diversity is very good and continues to improve year on year, especially considering that the IT industry is known to be a "male-dominated" industry. Professional Services is considered to be one of the more technical roles within VMware but since I joined, the team has recruited more females than in the previous years. Maternity leave is supported and encouraged, regardless of gender.

A lot of diversity and inclusion broadcasts to celebrate personnel culture in a less formal manner. Plenty of no question asked leave benefits for all genders. e.g. Paternity Leave

What does your company do to attract applicants from less privileged backgrounds?
During the interview process, the company doesn't ask any questions or look for any answers that would be relevant to having a less privileged background. This provides applicants from less privileged background with equal footing to those with privilege.
