Hannah Hicks

Most mornings begin with emails, following up on tasks, making phone calls and planning out my day.

5.00 AM

My day usually begins before the sun around 5am. I jump up and make all the kid's school lunches and enjoy a quiet coffee before everyone wakes and the hustle of the day begins.

I usually lay out all uniforms, prepare breakfast, do a general tidy up, wake the kids, and get ready for work.

Breakfast

7.00 AM

This is usually the crazy hour of the day or pre-day I should say. I make three school/kindy drop-offs for four kids before heading into the city to start my work day.

On the way to work

8.30 AM

Most mornings begin with emails, following up on tasks, making phone calls and planning out my day.

This time usually flies by the fastest, by the time I next look at the clock after walking in I am always surprised that half of the morning has already passed.

I usually try to break my day into sections and allow myself certain blocks of time to complete certain tasks like opening or closing packages, phone calls to new clients etc.

10.00 AM

Between mid-morning and lunchtime goes just as quickly. I am usually preparing for my afternoon settlements and always being inundated with emails or phone calls to keep me busy.

1.00 PM

This is by far my favorite part of the day. The Lunchroom is full of bubbly chirpy personalities all laughing and enjoying each other's company with a nice break from the computer screens. With three floors in our office, it's nice to gather with other employees who you don’t see all the time. It’s nice to break up the day with good company before heading back to complete the day's work.

Lunchroom

2.00 PM

Most afternoons are spent attending to settlements either on PEXA or leaving the office to attend to traditional paper settlements.

Some days I will meet with clients to discuss their conveyancing matter or to complete their documents or verification of identity.

Meeting

5.30 PM

The end of the day always rolls around so quickly. Time to head home and start my afternoon/night mum tasks. I am always greeted by my very excited little ones as I come through the door right in time to organize dinner.
