Please comment on your role and day-to-day responsibilities.
I am an asbestos analyst - my satisfaction is only at a 7 as there are BD items which we cannot complete until we get accreditation. I predict my satisfaction will extend to a 9 once this is underway. That being said there is support if I need it for my work (or otherwise).

I am currently on Secondment to the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO). I have been working towards publishing annual marginal loss factors in a three-man team. Due to the process driven nature of this work, I spent most of my time reading procedures and writing formulas to automate the calculations. My current responsibilities are: Load flow metering data cleanup and verification Identify and isolate non-scheduled generators from load traces Investigate missing load traces Mapping of metered load/gen traces to transmission node identities Preparation of past load traces for future load growth forecast MLF calculations for backcast and forecast General data analysis
The day to day responsibilities can be varied because my team is very new. There is no structure on responsibilities at this stage.
Role can vary week to week. Being a bigger company you often complete audits on safety road design and help set up projects through inputting Dial Before You Dig information. Assist other senior planners with their day to day tasks across all projects.
Exposure to everything, thrown in the deep end - sink or swim.
My day-to-day responsibilities change progressively. Last week I was working under my project leader and this week I am partially leading the project. This gives me great confidence that my work is at an acceptable level and that my seniors trust me to lead projects.

When I am busy, I am extremely satisfied with my work. When there is downtime it can be very unsatisfying like any job.
Preparing a business case and some minor project management/admin tasks
My work is half in the field and half in the office. I do contaminated site investigations - which includes taking samples in the field, data entry and report writing.
Sustainability consulting on building and community scale projects, Green Star and third-party sustainability rating consulting, thermal and daylight modelling, climate change adaptation, Reconciliation, and place-making.
Highly varied day-to-day, very dependant on the current project needs. I am usually assigned a task / deliverable and have to work both individually and with various other team members to complete the task. Sometimes delegation and management of small teams, sometimes individual work with a reviewer providing feedback.
