Honeywell Building Solutions installs, integrates and maintains the systems that keep facilities safe, secure, comfortable, and productive and energy efficient.

This intern opportunity in Honeywell Building Solutions is focused on working within our project team and with our corrections customers. You will work with critical building management systems and security systems often on site, learning to make decisions and run projects with guidance. This may include installing and maintaining building automation, security, life safety and energy management systems.

Your duties will include:

  • Develop technical skills in the engineering and project implementation of Honeywell systems; this includes Security and Energy solutions.
  • Work with team leads and project managers to maintain the overall responsibility for the delivery of complex projects to the required quality, schedule and budget.
  • Develop engineering deliverables that supports project delivery efficiency in design, project implementation and commissioning, whilst meeting Honeywell's contractual responsibilities on the project.
  • Assist in the deployment of standard methodologies in the delivery and control of projects
  • Developing trust and managing the relationship with customers and ensuring a shared understanding of key issues between all parties is maintained and escalating issues to project lead and project managers as required
  • Manage effective communications with all project stakeholders
  • Assist in the collation of data and the reporting to enable the delivery of the financial objectives for the project and control billing and costs for the project
  • Understand and comply with implemented risk management programs
  • Assist in undertaking detailed planning and scheduling of the project and manage resource allocation
  • Assist the project lead in the maintenance project Safety Plan and EH&S responsibilities within the team
  • Identify and report in conjunction with the account manager any further business opportunities with the customer.

Qualifications:

  • Working towards a relevant Undergraduate Degree – Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, ICT or Controls engineer). Ideally you will be in your penultimate year of study.

The intern program will commence in November 2017 for 12 weeks.

Successful candidates will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
