As an Intern User Experience Engineer, you'll get the opportunity to immediately contribute. You'll be immersed in a software development team working on a new innovation, working with our talented and friendly team of professionals you can learn from. You'll immediately get exposure to one or more aspects of the software development lifecycle.

You're an engineer at heart who is passionate about using software and technology to solve real world problems. As an outstanding student you like using your initiative and working with others to get results. You will have a strong interest in Smartphone applications, technology and staying on top of trends and new best practices for mobile and web.

The Honeywell Software Centre (HSC) Sydney is a global software development centre and user experience design studio. You'll be amazed at some of the places where we're helping solve some of the world's toughest automation challenges with our Software Systems and applications, to make the world safer, more secure, more energy efficient and more productive. Our focus is on large scale automation systems and human machine interfaces for industrial and building automation, using leading edge technologies. You will be working with experienced Visual Designers and Interaction Designers, and will help us deliver great experiences with awesome products.

Together, we will deliver outstanding innovative products, through a deep understanding of the problem space and by creating solutions that are powered by fantastic technology which ladder up to Honeywell business goals. The variety of our businesses and applications will challenge your creative talents and our global footprint will expose you to diverse cultures and developing markets. You will:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand visual and interface requirements on a product-by-product basis and work with the user experience and development teams to design, prototype, test, and deliver user interface designs
  • Work closely with User Experience leaders to deliver design solutions for Honeywell Building Solutions
  • Apply progressive user experience design practices.
  • Engage in voice of customer site visits and develop insights and outcomes to drive and align teams around opportunities
  • Create and execute human-centered designs that differentiate our brands in the marketplace around the world

As an Intern, you will be in your penultimate year of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in UX Design, Interaction Design, Graphic/Media design, HCI, or related discipline. You will have a keen eye for detail, and passion for technically challenging work.
