About HSBC

HSBC is one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organizations. They serve around 46 million customers through their four Global Businesses: Retail Banking and Wealth Management, Commercial Banking, Global Banking and Markets, and Global Private Banking. HSBC's network covers 71 countries and territories, in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, North America, and Latin America.

Your role

An internship at HSBC will give you first-hand experience of what it's like to work for a global bank. They're looking for the future talent of their business – people with ambition who are motivated to develop their skills in a fast-paced environment.

Join HSBC on an internship and you’ll be invited to take advantage of many opportunities to learn and develop. These include:

  • An induction: you’ll start your placement with an induction into the business and the specific business area you have chosen
  • Continuous guidance: your line manager will be on hand to offer advice on your career options and guide your ambitions
  • Real-work experience: you’ll be working on live project work, so you’ll have the opportunity to learn within your role from the moment you join them
  • Support: you’ll be assigned a buddy, with whom you can share ideas and discuss your career motivations
  • Networking events: you can also attend their regular business and social events (including ‘Lunch and Learn sessions), alongside your day-to-day role, to build your network and knowledge
  • Their volunteering programme: you could develop new skills outside finance – while contributing to the communities in which they work

They want all their interns to thrive with them and be successful in their programme. If you perform well and would like to pursue a career at HSBC, they will consider you for a position on one of their global graduate programmes after your placement.

Training & development

HSBC gives its people the option to train, upskill and obtain qualifications in a way that’s right for them. They offer on-site HSBC University training in the UAE, Mexico, and the UK, online courses, and opportunities outside the classroom through volunteering. They are working to ensure everyone has the skills needed for the jobs of today and tomorrow.

During your internship at HSBC, you’ll build your skills and gain valuable hands-on experience. They’ll work with you to nurture and develop your strengths, as well as understand your potential and what motivates you before you have the opportunity to join them on their global graduate programme. Read more.
