We are the Australian Government agency that administers intellectual property (IP) rights and legislation relating to patents, trade marks, designs and plant breeder's rights.

Our vision is to have a world leading IP system that builds prosperity for Australia by using our skills and experience to advise government and Australian businesses to make the most of their IP.

'The Hub' is at the centre of Intellectual Property [IP] Australia's effort to facilitate an informed use and understanding of the IP system, and to ensure that Australians benefit from great ideas.

Are you interested in working with leading edge data and contributing to Australia's growth?

Working with our Patents team as part of the Policy and Governance Group (PGG), the Strategic Data Analyst provides expert research analysis to external agencies, based on information derived from both internal and external patent databases.

Engaging with external and internal stakeholders on a wide range of projects, you will extract information to provide strategic insights. You will be part of the team that leads government engagement for matters relating to Intellectual Property [IP]. This team covers a broad range of areas from legislation through to international policy and trade agreements; audit and attorney registration to legal advice and economic research and interacting across the agency.
Importantly, this activity contributes to and informs IP Australia's strategic goals.

We are looking for experienced and qualified analysts who are keen to hone and develop their expertise in searching and analysis in a unique environment where you can combine your skills in analytics and your qualifications and passion for Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.

Extensive training will be provided. The IP Australia office is located in Canberra, however we are able to facilitate working from a remote location for the right candidates.

This is a demanding role that requires focus and commitment, and an ability to collaborate and prioritise work at various stages to achieve deadlines.
Preferably a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics is desirable.

Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet IP Australia's background check and security clearance requirements.
