Our People & Places Solutions business – reinforces our drive to improve the lives of people everywhere and epitomizes the “why” of what we do – the tremendous positive impact and value our solutions bring to our communities and society as a whole. From facilities delivering life-saving therapies and ensuring clean water to enabling the connection of people through all modes of transportation and providing access to technology – we’re integrating a multitude of these solution elements to build the smart environments of tomorrow.

Start your Jacobs career with a company that inspires and empowers you to deliver your best work so you can evolve, grow and succeed – today and into tomorrow.

      Your Impact:

At Jacobs, we push the limits of what’s possible to make the world smarter, more connected and more sustainable. In our transport work, that means designing innovative solutions to move people and goods safely and efficiently across the globe. From rail systems mobilising accessible transit, to ports linking land and sea – when it comes to connecting the people and places of tomorrow, the future of transport depends on us.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Roads & Highways team. You'll work alongside our Senior Engineers on a range of complex projects including the Bridgewater Bridge across the Derwent River – the largest ever investment in a single transport infrastructure project in Tasmania’s history; the safety upgrade of the Midland Highway with the remaining 60 kilometres currently under design and most recently Marinus Link – the proposed undersea cable between Tasmania and Victoria. You’ll gain exposure to various stages of design work in projects, from feasibility and concept through to detailed design and construction phase services. Our engineers gain experience in road and civil design work, drafting, supporting the coordination of civil designs within our disciplines and across other project disciplines, and facilitation of document preparation for engineering solutions on projects.

      Here’s What You’ll Need:

Ideally, by January 2022 you’ll hold a university degree in Civil Engineering. This is a unique role that requires applicants hold Australian / New Zealand Citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency. Bring your curiosity, collaborative spirit and strong communication skills, and we’ll help you grow, pursue and fulfil what drives you – so we can make big impacts on the world, together.

      Our 2022 Graduate Program

As a Graduate at Jacobs you’ll be a valued member of our team from Day 1 and work on real projects, bids and tenders from the get-go. Under the guidance and mentorship of our experts and industry leaders you’ll be equipped with the skills and knowledge to deliver the boldest solutions for the extraordinary and the everyday. From gaining hands-on experience to participating in networking events and structured learning sessions, you’ll find new and inventive ways to help our clients make the world a better place.

We see graduates as the future leaders of our business, which is why we’re delighted to have received the Australian Financial Review’s Top 100 Graduate Employers award for ‘Most Popular Engineering & Resources Employer’ in 2021! Our teams offer a supportive environment to help you to learn, grow and excel. No matter what drives you, you’ll discover how you can cultivate, nurture and achieve your goals – all at a single global company.

Jacobs. A world where you can.

Joining Jacobs not only connects you locally but globally – and together, our diverse perspectives and unique backgrounds power our collective strength. We collaborate and share! By supporting one another, we all succeed.

With safety, accessibility and flexibility always top of mind, we’ve gone beyond traditional ways of working so you have the support, means and space to maximise your potential. You’ll uncover flexible working arrangements, benefits and opportunities to do good too – from participating in our global giving and volunteering program, to delivering ever more innovative and sustainable solutions for clients.

It’s the extra roles and committees outside of project work that I treasure most and that makes me feel included. Roles such as being the lead of the First Nations Committee; this role allows me to embrace my culture and heritage within the business and gives me the confidence to bring the complete ‘Nick’ to work every day.
