Salary Classification: Legal Officer Grade I-III - $72,783pa to $86,033pa (Package of up to $95,358pa)
Employment Status: Temporary Full-Time up to 3 years (on successful completion of the graduate rotation program, ongoing employment as a grade I-III solicitor may be available)

We are currently recruiting for talented law graduates to join CSO's graduate program for a 2019 mid-year intake commencing in August 2019, as well as a 2020 new-year intake commencing in February 2020.
We are looking for highly motivated law graduates, who share the public sector values of Service, Integrity, Trust and Accountability and who have a record of superior academic achievement. Excellent communication skills with proven research skills are a must, as is the ability to work well in a team. Ideally, we are looking for recent graduates who have less than two years' law experience.
Our program
We offer a two-year program for graduates consisting of four, six-monthly rotations across various legal practice groups that will provide you the opportunity to develop your skills in advice writing, litigation and transactional work. You will be provided with targeted training activities and on-the-job training to ensure that by the end of the program you have the capability levels of a well-rounded and competent solicitor.
We are also targeting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates in this recruitment under Part 5, clause 26 of the Government Sector Employment Rules 2014. In the pre-screening questions you will need to provide information on how you satisfy the Aboriginality criteria.
About the Graduate Solicitor role
In this role, you will assist senior solicitors in the conduct of legal matters (advice, transaction and/or litigation) within a specialist legal practice group to ensure the provision of high quality, cost effective and client focussed legal services to government.
