About Stockland:

Stockland is Australia's largest community creator. We own, manage and develop a diverse $17 billion portfolio that encompasses retail town centres, logistics centres and business parks, office assets, residential communities and retirement living villages.

Our vision is to be a great Australian real estate company that makes a valuable contribution to our communities and country. This is brought to life by our 1400 employees who are guided by our values, which are of community, accountability, respect and excellence and are passionately committed to delivering our purpose – 'we believe there is a better way to live'.

The opportunity:

This graduate opportunity sits in group operations which comprises the Office of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Group Marketing, Sustainability, Group Risk and Human Resources. The purpose of the group operations team is to support the Stockland business to achieve growth, operational effectiveness and best serve the communities where we operate.

As a Group Operations graduate at Stockland, you will be exposed to a very varied graduate program stream within the organisation covering almost all aspects of Group Operations. The projects which you work on are exciting, rewarding and crucial to building a foundation for your future career path.

Examples of historic projects have included:

  • Supporting the sustainability team in the design and implementation of new initiatives to help ensure Stockland remains a responsible developer
  • Design thinking processes around building the Customer experience strategy through technology and innovation by engaging with various parts of the business, stakeholders as well as collaborating with real customers
  • Supporting the implementation of a new HR system to better manage the training and development of internal staff
  • Supporting the diversity and inclusion team to build awareness around the organisations inclusion efforts such as Stockland's Employee Advocacy Groups as well as a submission to the Australian Workplace Gender Equality Agency for Gender Equality

Given the broad remit of this position, this role provides a unique opportunity for a graduate to pursue a longer-term career in a range of core functions in the Stockland business or externally.

This position is based in Sydney with the opportunity for infrequent travel.

Stockland's graduate programme:

As a top graduate employer our program offers you a full time permanent role that takes you on a 2-year journey to develop your capability and participate in focused development days. You will also benefit from coaching as well as the support of a dedicated sponsor to help you make the most of the program. Highlights of the program include innovation workshops, getting together with graduates from around the country and the chance to bring fresh ideas to Stockland.

Stockland's proposition to you:

At Stockland, our employees are their own community delivering outcomes that benefit the community at large. We work in a highly collaborative environment that provides flexibility, opportunities and respects differences. Our portfolio is diverse and so are the opportunities for professional and career development. We are committed to providing our people with broad experiences to build a successful career.

Stockland has a strong commitment to achieving the best outcomes through an inclusive and collaborative culture. Our customers come from a range of backgrounds and we want our teams to reflect this.

We offer competitive remuneration and benefits. Your benefits are chosen by you for you. Benefits include free to access or subsided lifestyle, health, well-being and financial services products.

Requirements:

This position is open to graduates from all degree backgrounds. To be eligible you should have achieved a 60% grade point average or above (GPA) either to date or overall in your degree subject. Please attach a copy of your transcript to your application so that this can be cross-referenced.

This position will interact with stakeholders across the operations department, therefore the ability to build strong working relationships and adapt dependent on the team you are supporting is critical for success. Additionally, as the projects you will deliver are defined by business needs at a point in time, you should feel comfortable in working with ambiguity and ceasing opportunities to deliver as they arise.

Whilst there is not an expectation that you have come from a financial degree background, it's anticipated that some projects will be of an analytical nature. Therefore, an interest in working with data and drawing conclusions with a view of making commercial recommendations is desirable.

To be eligible for the Stockland programme you must currently be studying for or have completed a suitable degree in the last 24 months of the programme start date. This programme will start in February 2019.

Due to the permanent nature of this role we can only accept applications who are a citizen of or hold permanent residency in Australia or New Zealand.

Next steps:

Please click to apply through our careers website. You will be asked to complete a short application form and upload a copy of your CV plus academic transcript.

A member of the Stockland careers team will aim to review all applications and provide an update within 15 working days after the closing date.

If you do not meet the GPA requirement for the programme and have mitigating circumstances, please contact the careers team on [email protected] to discuss your candidacy further.
