DO WORK THAT MATTERS

Legal Services partners with the Group's business units to assist them in achieving their strategic goals and priorities through the provision of expert, commercially focused legal advice. There are a wide range of opportunities in Legal Services, and can range from supporting our customer-facing business to working on complex transactions and legal matters.
Working in Legal Services, you'll have the opportunity to gain exposure to a number of internal legal teams to develop a detailed understanding of the Bank's legal practices, and assist in providing advice on a variety of matters for different business units within the Group.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU

You are a values-driven strategic thinker, with commercial acumen and strong communication and relationship management skills. You're a team player who is naturally curious and passionate about finding pragmatic, customer-focused solutions, applying your judgement and adapting to the ever-changing business environment.

We consider Law degree graduates who currently have or are able to obtain a Practising Certificate in the relevant jurisdiction (NSW).

WE INVEST IN YOUR FUTURE

The program commences on the 23 November 2020, where you'll join as a full-time employee over the summer. Here you'll get a taste of what it's like working at CommBank through formal learning events and workplace-based experiential learning, to help you decide if we're the right fit for you.

The program centres around 4 key elements:

  • Shine: Contribute from day one by working on real projects that impact our business and our customers, within Australia's largest bank.
  • Develop: Participate in market-leading training to develop your technical and soft skills. This will help with the transition to full-time work from university over the summer, and ensure you excel in your immediate and future roles.
  • Network: Build networks and friendships through unparalleled access to senior leaders, project leads and program sponsors, enhancing your personal and business profile.
  • Contribute: Give back to the community through intern initiatives, driving positive change across our organisation and improving the wellbeing of our intern cohort.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • You are an Australian/New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident at the time of your application (essential);
  • In your penultimate year (second last year) of your university degree, or if you are doing a double degree, you must be in your penultimate year of your overall studies (essential); and
  • Achieving at least a credit average across your university degree (essential).

At CommBank, we're committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce reflecting the customers, businesses and communities we serve.
