  • R&D and Manufacturing

Generation STEM Links is a hands-on internship program that pairs NSW students in their second to last to final year of study in STEM degrees and qualifications with industry to allow both sides to learn, connect, and innovate.

Finding an internship that pays, equips you with on-the-job skills and offers flexibility is challenging. This is where Generation STEM Links can help and support.

The program allows students to tailor their placement depending on their study schedules and gain industry-specific skills. Student interns will be paid a minimum of $25 per hour.

Aside from creating professional connections, you will gain new skills and put your knowledge into action.

The program will also allow you to get a taste of potential career pathways which could ultimately land you a future job or dream STEM career.

Recruitment Process

Generation STEM Links internships are open to students studying Diploma level qualifications and above.

Tips for submitting a strong application:

  • Use the application questions to emphasise your achievements, interests and goals. Relate your responses to the job description if applying for a specific placement.
  • Use the application to highlight your written communication skills and the interview to showcase your verbal communication skills.
  • List your technical skills in your resume. We use these to highlight you to our industry partners and refer to them when new opportunities emerge that suit your skill set.
  • Add hobbies that relate to your STEM course or career goals. With COVID-19 disruptions to regular hands-on practice, you may want to include any personal projects or licenses obtained.
  • Avoid answering application questions by telling us you would like to gain industry experience from the program. Instead, highlight skills you would like to develop through a placement.
  • Avoid listing your course codes as an example of your experiences. Each educational institution has different course codes, and content may vary. Instead, focus on the learning's and how you can apply these in a working environment.

Remuneration & Career Growth
