Training & Personal Development at DHL
- Average rating for Training, based on 21 reviews7.7 / 10
Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
Quality training both on and off the job. A variety of up skilling with different finance courses, project management, workshop facilitation, six sigma, Frontline Leaders, Consultative Selling and also excel training at different levels depending on your skill set.
DHL has an online learning platform called My Talent World which is a tool used by the company that is accessible to everyone. It has taught me about the industry, the healthcare sector I currently work in as well as various other applications such as PowerPoint and excel. I have also completed an excel training course with an external training provider.
The main training that every new employee will go though is our CSCS training - Certified Supply Chain Specialist. Every employee within the business has to go through this training to align business core competencies with industry standards and to understand the importance of their position as well. General business skills such as pulling reports, using PowerBI mapping tools and other business applications are things I've picked up along the way.
The company wants you to succeed so they put you through companywide training. Majority of work completed has work instructions to help during day-to-day tasks
CSCS is a one and a half day course which enables you to learn more about supply chain and how your role plays a crucial part in the company. It helps you reach your full potential and ensure we are all aligned with the companys overall strategy.
When I initially started with the business I attended country induction that gave me insight into DHL as a business. I then participated in a Project Management internal training course to learn how projects are coordinated in the organization. I have also had the honor to attend our Certified Supply Chain Specialist program. I have also completed a level two excel training to extend my skills in the area.

All training is provided on the job but prerequisite knowledge is expected. I've learned a lot about best practices in the industry but there hasn't been any formal training programs yet, being a new graduate.
