5.00 AM

This morning I have an early start to my day, as I’m expected on-site in Torquay at 7.30 am. Reluctantly I push back the urge to press snooze, and I pull myself out of bed to make a coffee. Once my coffee is ready, I jump back into bed for 30 minutes to allow myself some time to scroll through TikTok while finishing off my coffee and breakfast.

6.30 AM

After getting ready for the day, I hop into the car to drive from Melbourne to Torquay. On the way, I make sure to fill up, as I’m almost out of petrol. I stop for a second to admire the sunrise, then I’m back on the road.

7.30 AM

I have finally arrived on site in Torquay after a short drive down to the coast.  I speak with the site manager so that I can have an update on everything that has happened in the week since I last visited. It was all around positive as everything seems to be moving along. I take a few photos, then head back into the Geelong CBD to get back to my main project site.  Along the way, I make sure to drop into Daniel Donuts to pick something up for the site.

9.30 AM

The construction team holds their weekly catch-up, with the Team Administrator providing updates to the team. As I have just joined the Construction team this week, I am given a warm welcome by everyone.

11.30 AM

The second meeting of the day is a Buildability Review with the client and project team. Most items of concern are closed out during the meeting, however, I am left with some Requests for Information, and Notices of Disruptive Activity to send out.

4.30 PM

After travelling back to Melbourne and issuing a Notice of Disruptive Activity I get changed quickly, and head into the Docklands to attend Archies Arcade with the rest of the Johnstaff Team. Although I was slightly late, I arrived just in time to jump in on Laser Tag with everyone.  Despite my team losing, I had a great time.

9.00 PM

Most of the Johnstaff team has left, but there are a few of us that stuck around and headed out to Karaoke. We sung non-stop for 2 hours, and all had our time to shine with the songs we personally selected.

11.30 PM

After singing my lungs out for 2 hours, I headed down to the Train Station and took the train back home for the night. I returned a call my mum made to me earlier and chatted to her for the whole ride back. After arriving home, I quickly got ready for bed and headed to sleep, extremely happy with the way my day panned out.
