Job description :

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Fort Worth, Texas, is seeking a Summer 2024 Intern Mechanical Engineer.

In this role, you will support existing project teams by documenting engineering design solutions (e.g. DODAF views), analyzing the design of hardware solutions designed for multi-domain coordination and data-sharing, implementing physical engineering solutions in operational environments, and gathering and analyzing post-event data for presentations to leadership. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of the MATLAB programming platform, familiarity with web-based content updates and information-sharing strategies, and basic knowledge of engineering problem-solving using computer-based methodologies.

Training & development

Interns will gain hands-on experience in documenting engineering design solutions, analyzing hardware designs, implementing engineering solutions in operational environments, and presenting post-event data to leadership. About you

Basic Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Willingness to work on-site in a lab environment.
  • Familiarity with the MATLAB programming platform.
  • Analytical thinking, engineering knowledge, and problem-solving skills.
  • Coursework in engineering problem solving using computer-based methodologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and the ability to work autonomously when provided with work instructions.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Desired skills:

  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team.
  • Familiarity with web-based content updates and information-sharing strategies.
