5.30 AM

My alarm goes off and I begrudgingly crawl out of bed and find my gym gear. At this point I haven’t put my contact lenses in so imagine a dark morning, squinting and stumbling around trying to find everything. I typically lay out my clothes and lunch the night before so I can grab them and go in the morning without too much fiddling around.

6.00 AM

I’ve popped my work, gym, and lunch bags into the bike of my basket and I’m on my way for the day. The first stop is the gym and then to work.

7.30 AM

I’ve finished my gym class and now I head to work (not too far away) which has changing and showering facilities. I freshen up and change into work attire.

8.00 AM

I have breakfast in the office coupled with a hot tea and a book- I like to try and read a chapter every morning.

8.30 AM

I’ve migrated from the kitchen to my desk where I log in to my laptop. First things first, checking my email and messages to see if anyone messaged me after I logged off on Friday. I have a quick look into what my calendar holds for the day. I’ve got meetings for most of the morning.

9.00 AM

Morning meeting! Here we discuss what’s happening in the office for the week, if anyone needs help with anything they are currently working on and any other general office updates.

9.30 AM

Post-check in with project one I had some work to do preparing notes and background information for some upcoming meetings we are hosting to talk with the stakeholders. This including understanding the context for each meeting and what are some important talking points so that we can get all the information we need efficiently and effectively.

12.00 PM

Wow that time flew by quickly. I’ve been in meetings all morning. I had some time to touch base with my colleagues to prep for the week ahead. We then jumped into an hour long meeting with a client to understand more about the stakeholders and some of the logistics that will be required prior to meeting with them. We then moved to a internal team meeting to go through key insights and identify what we all need to focus on for the coming week on our project. This included getting some action items (things to do) from the internal meeting. Now time for a half hour lunch break.

12.30 PM

Jumping into project number two. This one I am preparing some information for the team on who we are going to talk to in our consultations so that we get to know a little bit about them and what information they might know. This helps us make sure our questions are relevant and so that we can keep to time.

3.30 PM

The team for project two is meeting up and we are working together on the next steps on the project. This includes talking about what we have done so far, and what that means moving forward. We outline our focus moving into the next section of our project. This meeting also came with action items.

4.30 PM

I’ve had quite a few meetings that require me to do some extra tasks. I’m spending the next half an hour organising my to do list by priority and blocking out time in my calendar to do the tasks over the next few days.

5.00 PM

I’m jumping back to project one to do a plan for our upcoming stakeholder engagement. This means I am making a timeline to understand what we need to do and by when.

6.00 PM

I’ve just done my timesheet and I’m heading off for the day

6.30 PM

Just got home and having leftovers for dinner. A quite night for me as I have a big week ahead. I spend the rest of the night reading and then organising my things for tomorrow. I head off to bed at 9.30 pm.
