Recruitment Process

PCL's recruitment process varies by position but generally, goes through the following steps: The candidate expresses their interest by submitting an application to the desired job posting with at minimum a CV. If the candidate is selected for the next step, they are sent a link to complete a short one-way video interview, where candidates are asked to record themselves responding to questions so hiring managers can get to know them better. If the candidate progresses to the formal interview stage, PCL collects references and have the candidate complete a psychometrics test, both completed through online platforms. The final stage includes interviews with the hiring team which are currently virtual due to Covid-19.

PCL's selection criteria is extensive and specific to each position that they hire for. As a starting point, they ensure the candidate meets the job posting requirements, has an interest and passion for construction and solar construction, values and practices a high degree of safety, and is aligned with PCL's values.
 

Remuneration & Career Growth

At PCL, total compensation is about more than just base salary. They strive to create a work environment where cash compensation is not the only driving force of a PCLers satisfaction. PCL looks at the total remuneration package as the wide range of cash and non-cash benefits provided to an employee.

In addition to base salary, which is reviewed and benchmarked against market data to remain competitive, PCL offers superannuation and may in some cases provide other remuneration depending on remote project locations and relocation requirements if applicable.
