Position Overview

RGA Australia is looking for an enthusiastic and talented Human Resources student to join the HR team as an intern in 2022. Human Resources at RGA act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the leadership team and management by developing and executing the people pillars of the business strategy. They are responsible for providing HR leadership and support to business leaders and employees, working collaboratively with global HR colleagues to provide innovative people solutions.

As part of this internship, you will gain exposure to the Human Resources function locally, as well as global HR colleagues. You will build on your technical skills through hands-on, real-life HR experience, as you progress towards graduation, and be exposed to all facets of the employee lifecycle.

You will need to able to commit to working 15 hours per week, which can be split across 2 – 3 days to accommodate your course timetable. 

Responsibilities

As an HR intern at RGA you will:

  • Work on challenging projects and initiatives with high impact during a paid, part-time internship.
  • Get involved in all aspects of the HR function, including talent attraction and selection, onboarding, learning and development, culture, DEI, rewards and recognition, and HR systems, data and analytics.
  • Be a part of a collaborative, experienced team who will work with you to identify challenging goals, inspire and mentor you, and support your learning and professional development.
  • Gain experience working in the HR function of a global, professional services organisation.

Requirements

  • Are curious and innovative thinkers
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and influence across various teams and functions
  • Can work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Have solid organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Are proficient in using Microsoft Office programs – Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Are currently enrolled in a Bachelors, Masters or PhD program, majoring in Human Resource Management or related field, with at least one year of university completed under their belt
  • Hold a distinction average (preferred)
  • Have had some experience in an office environment (preferred)
