    Awarded by AAGE as one of the top 40 Intern programs, Saab Australia will give you the opportunity to put into practice what you have been learning throughout your studies and gain invaluable experience in a defence and security company.

    Our paid internship program runs for up to 12 weeks over the December to February period. During this placement, you will work alongside our expert engineers gaining experience on real-life projects and case studies. You will learn from colleagues who are specialists in their field and develop your skills and knowledge further.

    Some of the roles offered in our upcoming program include:

    Adelaide based:

    • Modelling and Simulation: focused on improvement of computing techniques for defence applications and the modelling of defence systems
    • Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering: focused on the design of Uninhabited Underwater Vehicles and their integration to submarines.
    • Hardware Engineering: focused on our physical combat system solutions
    • Software Engineering: focused on our combat management system and security system solutions
    • ICT Infrastructure Engineering: focused on deployment and design of our security system solutions
    • Business/Commerce: focused on improvements in operational reporting including financial and project aspects

    Melbourne based:

    • Biomedical Engineering: focused on the design of deployable health solutions
    • Marketing/Communications: focused on research of civilian emergency health markets and their clinical needs

    About you:

    To be eligible for the Saab Australia Internship Program, you will need to meet the following criteria:

    • You will be in your penultimate year or have completed at least 3 years of a Bachelor's Degree
    • You will be an Australian citizen and able to meet defence industry security requirements

    We are seeking those with degree specialisations in the below disciplines (or similar):

    • Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering
    • Marine Engineering
    • Biomedical Engineering
