As a Geologist at SLB, you’ll combine your understanding of earth sciences with a comprehensive knowledge of the latest logging technologies to determine reservoir architecture and hydrocarbon potential. That means you’ll use various data acquisition services and logging systems to understand reservoirs’ structure, stratigraphy, lithology and compartmentalization. Every Geologist's role is different, and there are many projects to get involved with. You could be helping clients understand changes in reservoir rocks during production or be responsible for determining the best place to drill the well with minimum environmental damage. Some of our Geologists help build the tools and systems we use to improve reservoir understanding. Whichever projects you work on, you’ll become adept at multiple software systems and work closely with customers to find innovative ways to solve some of their most complex challenges.

Successful Geologists are rapid learners, use logic to solve problems, and are personally committed to continuous improvement.

  • Understand the competition’s technical offering.
  • Participate in external technical societies and communities.
