Culture at SLB

8.3
8.3 rating for Culture, based on 13 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
The intern group was very close and friendly. Office staff were friendly and weren't afraid of giving responsibility to the interns. Workshop technicians are very knowledgeable and human, easy to talk to and joke with. There's a strong sense of cooperation and care within SLB.

The culture here at slb is amazing. It allows everyone to know despite ethnic background, age, gender that we are all one and willing to welcome all to make the world more technologically advanced through Slb

The culture is of collaboration and mutual support. The growth expectation of everyone on their own careers leads to knowledge sharing and cheering of coworker achievements. Everyone is very committed. There is free communication between all levels in the company.

Extremely diverse. With many different nationalities working in many different areas, the company fosters the idea of bringing the world together to create innovative ideas. Outside of work, I have met and maintained friendships with numerous international employees which always brings an aura of excitement when planning activities as individuals are always curious and exploring.

Initially the culture was very welcoming and supportive, now after several changes, it is stressful to go to office. Most times, it is expected to work outside office hours and if you dont then you are treated unfairly and looked down upon. It is okay to work outside office hours if there is a deadline to match but if the team leader always expects this then it is just poor leadership, There is a structure but people keep changing. Socialsing is limited as I prefer to work from home to avoid stressful office environment.

A sense of cooperation and teamwork is strongly embedded within SLB and I have never felt like I was 'competing' with anyone inside of the company. Team members from the technical side of things are incredible social, easy going and always happy to help you out or to chat about life over lunch or a coffee. This is slightly less true for team members of managerial positions but this varies greatly from person to person I find. One thing to note is that because most employees are first and foremost engineers, there is a strong sense of cohesion and rarely a feeling of a need to sugarcoat or downplay situations or your feelings. This makes team relationships feel very genuine even across company departments such as D&I to HR or IT for example, making you always feel supported and cared about.

The team is very friendly to work with and helpful.

From my experience , many seem to believe they are enslaved in terms of hours vs salary. Most have expressed they would leave to do the same job with another company if offered a better salary
