Please tell us about promotion possibilities and fill us in on what it takes to move up the ranks.
Mostly it's about the performance I would say. The more happy your engineer is with your work Promotion progression takes place.
Graduate, Perth
I have only experienced a promotion opportunity when transitioning from undergrad to grad and don't have an experience with salary reviews
Graduate, Brisbane
Given that I haven't been at the company that long, I can not comment extensively on this aspect. In my experience, there are opportunities to move up in my position but it does quite a bit of e_ort with a list of competencies and values I have to complete to move from a graduate role which is not ideal.
Graduate, Sydney
I've only been here a little bit over a year so it's hard to say for now. My manager says I need to build my experience first.
Graduate, Other (Please specify) - Makati City, Philippines
For graduate years career progression pathway is clear, with competency checklist to follow to guide skills to be trained up. Global career framework sets up basic guidelines (e.g. years of experience etc.) for further promotion, though assessment is more performance based.
Graduate, Sydney
I am assuming it is good, however I will only have first-hand experience once I complete the graduate program.
Graduate, Other (Please specify) - Newcastle
Stantec has a well structured career level progression pathway. Because Stantec is multi-national engineering firm, it also has excellent opportunities for horizontal career development and moving into new fields, and locations.
Graduate, Brisbane
I can't say much about the promotion opportunities at this stage. It's been less than a year since I have joined the company. Maybe after 1 year or next year, I'll be in a much better position to talk about promotion opportunities.
Graduate, Brisbane
Career progression is adequate and is based on experiences/background on the position.
Graduate, Other (Please specify) - Manila
It's pretty clear what you need to do to move up and you have opportunity to create things for yourself. Things aren't given away without effort/hard work which is good to see
Graduate, Melbourne
I am currently a grad and while I have a two-year commitment to the program, there is a pathway for me after this tie. I am specifically interested in project management, and I have support from my team lead/mentor and team members to slowly transition into this avenue of work. Stantec also has many opportunities in place for people to grow into these positions and get support along the way. I am confident that my career progression at Stantec will be an enjoyable experience and one that I will feel supported in when the time comes.
Graduate, Perth
As a large, global company, Stantec has a large range of opportunities in both ranked promotion and lateral career movement. I think the level of resistance met is based on a manager by manager basis.
Graduate, Brisbane
I think there is a lot of opportunity to advance in my current job. with lots of experienced individuals to help me figure out what pathway i would like to take in my career
Graduate, Sydney
Would suggest asking for the job description of the role you wish to be promoted to and using the different requirements and performed tasks listed as a checklist. Then come time for your performance reviews you can show that you are fulfilling the job description and have the conversation to move up in the ranks.
