The opportunity:

These graduate opportunities sit in the development management teams who are responsible for delivering projects from through all phases from acquisition to design, build to completion. This team works alongside community groups, government, builder partners and Stockland experts they deliver developments that meet the needs of the local community and deliver returns to the business.

In this role you will directly support a development manager in the end-to-end execution of projects. These can range from delivering master plan communities inclusive of housing, public amenities, retail and commercial elements to smaller scale residential communities.

Responsibilities are varied and are dependent on the projects stage of completion. They could include:

  • Assisting with the design team in the planning phase of a new development
  • Working in conjunction with the sales and marketing teams to support the release of a completed development
  • Support with the tender management process to identify suppliers and contractors
  • Overseeing financial aspects of a project including contracts management, invoicing, keeping a track of spend, profit and loss
  • Managing safety and compliance reporting 
  • Preparing progress reports which are shared with key internal stakeholders and investors

To provide broad exposure, this graduate opportunity with rotate through the development management function and will gain experience in all stags of the development lifecycle. Longer term, you will have the opportunity to take ownership for delivering larger-scale developments or transfer your project management expertise into other roles in the development or broader sectors.

This position is based in Sydney with travel to various project sites in greater Sydney. Therefore, a driving licence is required for this position.

Requirements:

Our development management teams come from a range of academic backgrounds. Alongside property-based degrees we welcome applications from those who have studied a business/commerce, economics, management or engineering related fields.

To be eligible you should have achieved a 60% grade point average or above (GPA) either to date or overall in your degree subject. Please attach a copy of your transcript to your application so that this can be cross-referenced.

The most successful development managers are those who can build strong relationships and can successfully interact with stakeholders both internally and externally. Having an inquisitive nature, strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise are all critical skills for this area of Stockland.

To be eligible for the Stockland programme you must currently be studying for or have completed a suitable degree in the last 24 months of the programme start date. This programme will start in February 2019.
