    The role

    As a Saab Graduate, you will work alongside experienced engineers to deliver world leading and innovative projects. 

    Saab’s Graduate Program is a two year program, which offers you the opportunity to work across two or three teams through structured rotations across the business. These rotations are individually tailored to your current skills and developmental needs, business requirements and individual preferences. 

    Following the successful completion of the program, you will be placed into a permanent position within the business so that you can continue the growth of your exciting new career.

    Our 2023 program will be comprised of the following graduate roles, based out of our Adelaide and Melbourne offices:

    • Software Engineering within our 9LV Combat Management System, Underwater Combat & Automation System and OneView Security System product teams
    • Hardware Engineering focusing on electrical/electronic, mechanical/mechatronic and biomedical solutions for our 9LV Combat Management System, Underwater Platform Management System, OneView Security System and Deployable Health Solutions
    • System Engineering design of combat systems for the Royal Australian Navy’s surface fleet and OneView Security System installations Australia wide
    • Modelling & Analysis of naval Combat System solutions
    • Integrated Logistics Support Engineering of naval Combat System solutions
    • Cyber security consulting and engineering supporting Saab’s business areas, products and external clients

    About you

    We are searching for talented and inquisitive problem-solvers, who are interested in designing and developing products that will help to keep people and society safe.

    To be eligible for the Saab Australia Graduate Program, you will need to meet the following criteria: 

    1. Completed within the last two (2) years, or about to complete, a Bachelor’s Degree, specialising in:
    • Software Engineering/Computer Science
    • Computer Systems/Networking/IT
    • Electrical/Electronics Engineering
    • Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering
    • Biomedical engineering
    • Cyber Security

    Or a related technical discipline

    As Defence security clearance is required for these roles, you will be an Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.

    Entry Requirements

    To gain entry to the Master of Cyber Security, applicants must:

    • Have a Bachelor degree in any discipline, or;
    • Demonstrate a minimum of five years' relevant professional experience
    • All applicants must satisfy English competency standards
    Special entry

    Special entry may be considered for students with a cognate first degree (or with appropriate experience) who can apply for a reduced course duration:

    1.5 years full time (3 years part time) - 180 credit points

    Admission is based on:

    • Bachelor degree in a related discipline*, or
    • Bachelor degree in any discipline, plus five years relevant work experience^, or
    • Graduate Certificate of Cyber Security (or equivalent), or
    • Evidence of academic capability judged to be equivalent.

    *Related discipline refers to any cyber security/ICT-related discipline
    ^Relevant work experience constitutes Senior/Managerial positions to be approved by the Course Coordinator.
