The opportunity:

The Graduate Architect is an important part of the Stockland Design Studio. This is a small team which includes architects, designers, landscapers and other specialist advisors. The team covers all asset classes and their projects can range from delivering the design for 150 boutique apartments to 6000+ dwellings.

The purpose of the design team is to ensure that a project is delivered to the high expectations of Stockland as a whole, not only in the design but also in the social and financial sustainability of the project.

Responsibilities in this role are varied. The incumbent graduate was responsible for areas including:

  • Supporting the architectural design on key projects across residential, retirement living and mixed-use scheme.
  • Working with colleagues in the acquisition and marketing teams to support the tender process for potential development opportunities.
  • Completing acquisition stage analysis, scheme preparation and modelling.
  • Working with the team to create standard specifications, templates and checklists to support future prefabrication.
  • Taking the lead in organising and running design forum meetings. These are engagement roadshows to update senior members of the Stockland business on the design process for current live projects.

This position is based in Sydney with the potential for infrequent travel.

Requirements:

For this position you must have completed a Master of Architecture degree. You should have completed your degree in the last 24 months.

As there is an immediate need for this graduate we welcome applications from individuals that have already graduated and wish to start work ASAP or will be graduating this year. If you are graduating this year there may be an opportunity to undertake some casual work with Stockland before formally starting on the programme in February 2019.

At Stockland we seek graduates with excellent interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic and a solution motivated approach. You will have the ability to communicate effectively and are able to demonstrate where you have previously worked in a high-performing and collaborative team environments. Familiarity with one or more relevant software such as Revit, Rhino, Autocad or similar and the Adobe suite (InDesign, photoshop and illustrator) is advantageous.
