We're looking for an (F)intern to join the Events team in a support role assisting with day-to-day event communications, logistics, social media marketing, and project management of events, led by the Events team. Having an understanding of the Fintech ecosystem will make it easier for you, however this is the best place to learn about it, and we have plenty of reading material for prep detailed below in addition to real life experience you will enjoy in our office.

What Will Help You Succeed?

  • Highly organised, able to prioritise project plans with key milestones and communicate progress updates to the wider team. Execute with attention to detail, delivering well-received events/activities strengthening demand within the community.
  • Confident presenter and uber networker – you will be communicating with over 90+ startup companies based at Stone & Chalk and stimulating conversations across the network to generate opportunities and connections
  • Experience in organising and managing events, and a strong communication acumen to ensure high turn out
  • Ability to market events and activities with engaging social content across branded social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram)
  • A grasp of analytics and insights tools and an ability to provide recommendations on findings and review activity to suggest improvements from event feedback
  • Skilled in quickly identifying small quick wins / opportunities to improve/ customer experiences and making it a reality quickly i.e. turning your good ideas into actions
  • You will need to BYO your own laptop and Mobile phone

What we will get you involved in......

  • Organising!! You live and breathe logistics and can't wait to get working through the list activities and details that gel together to create dynamic interactive events, e.g. co-ordinating great speakers, booking space, catering, AV, invites, arrival management, flyers, invites, resourcing to man events, leading bump in & bump out, security, promotional materials, space layout, e.g. chairs, furniture, stages, fans, etc. .....the list goes on....and on!
  • Learn about managing and driving event attendance, invitation creation, and ongoing communications (reminders, briefings etc.) to participants, attendance tracking and follow-up from event to event
  • Constant improvement by listening, communicating and understanding partner and participants' experiences to ensure feedback from each event is captured, and acted upon to improve future events e.g. post event evaluations etc.
  • Timely sharing of events information to the wider team and Marketing Manager to ensure maximum reach targeting relevant community(ies) regarding upcoming events and attendance.
  • And gets a kick out of automating (less exciting???) processes e.g. checklists, templates, invoicing etc. to gain event efficiencies (free up time for more fun!) and implement learning's to improve the experience of each event for attendees and partners
  • Design of surveys to gain feedback from participants, collate information, clarify and delve into feedback
  • Timely bookkeeping and budgeting, and invoicing for events to ensure we keep on budget and keep control of costs, and are up to date with actuals week on week.
  • Food! (Ok that one was easy!) this role manages menu planning and catering package design for all events, and ensuring events are successful catered (happy attendees!). You will have the support of great caterers that you choose to partner with and brief on preferred ways of working to ensure smooth sailing.
  • Being a YES person...whatever is needed you ensure the SHOW goes on; scrappy and resourceful, you are a creative individual that finds a way through any brick walls that land in your path. You make it happen, and take ownership to ensure any event/project crosses the finish line in good time!
