Dione Yip

I love how many skills I get to learn as a functional consultant. The variety of work I have gotten to experience as a consultant so far has been really exciting.

What's your job about?

My key areas of responsibility include business analytics, documentation, training for certifications, configuring systems and assisting client needs. A typical work day for me looks as such: check emails and calendar schedule, note down what I want to achieve over the course of the day, attend a project daily stand-up and report what I will be completing or need assistance with, complete tasks assigned to me, attend meetings, document all work, and study for certificates if I have any spare time.

What's your background?

Born and raised in Melbourne. I completed a double degree at Monash University majoring in economics and visual arts. I love to paint and was given the opportunity to study baroque and renaissance art in Italy. However, my favourite trip to date was going on a student exchange to Provence when I was 15.

What's the coolest thing about your job?

I love how many skills I get to learn as a functional consultant. The variety of work I have gotten to experience as a consultant so far has been really exciting. But also, the opportunity to work alongside and learn from talented colleagues has been invaluable.

What are the limitations of your job?

My main challenge has been working from home; therefore, learning how to communicate effectively online and create rapport with colleagues and clients through online means.

3 pieces of advice for yourself when you were a student...

My advice to anyone considering the DXC graduate program is to research the organisation. The many initiatives the company is a part of and open opportunities for employees made the decision for me to apply an easy one. I have also seen graduates be supported to move into different areas of the business if there was something else more suited to them!
