The opportunity:
This graduate opportunity sits in the village operations team, a group who are responsible for the day-to-day running and commercial management of Stockland's portfolio of 66 (and growing) retirement living assets nationally. These retirement villages range in size and scale and each operates as a small business. The teams purpose is to ensure each village is operationally successful, commercially viable and above all meets the needs of the residents who live there.
It is anticipated that the graduate will initially spend a significant amount of time at various villages to gain full exposure to village life and understand how Stockland manages these assets commercially and operationally. Following this, the graduate will be tasked to work on a series of projects and initiatives. These will vary and are dependent on business needs but could include financial modelling and oversight of profit and loss, developing operational guidelines, community outreach programmes and marketing initiatives.
The proportion of older Australian's is projected to grow significantly in the next two decades, as is the demand for later living developments. This position provides a graduate with an invaluable opportunity to gain broad exposure within the retirement living business and gain experience in a high growth market for Stockland and the country at large.
Owing to the broad nature of the position, this opportunity will provide the graduate with an opportunity to pursue a longer-term career in areas including asset management, retail operations, leasing and business development.
This position is based in Sydney with some travel to sites in the greater CBD area. Owing to this, a driving license is desirable.

Requirements:
The position is open to all graduates. To be eligible you should have achieved a 60% grade point average or above (GPA) either to date or overall in your degree subject. Please attach a copy of your transcript to your application so that this can be cross-referenced.
This position will interact with residents at retirement villages, those who run each village and individuals at head office. Therefore, the ability to build strong relationships and adapt depending on your audience is critical for success in this position.
Whilst there is not an expectation that you have come from a financial degree background, you will be working in a team who has the ultimate responsibility for ensuring the financial profitability and viability of Stockland's retirement living assets. Therefore, an interest in working with data and drawing conclusions with a view of making commercial recommendations is desirable.
To be eligible for the Stockland programme you must currently be studying for or have completed a suitable degree in the last 24 months of the programme start date. This programme will start in February 2019.
