The Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) was established to oversee the elimination of 110 level crossings across metropolitan Melbourne by 2030 in addition to other rail network upgrades such as new train stations, track duplication and train stabling yards.
Removing these dangerous and congested level crossings will improve safety, reduce travel congestion, improve travel time reliability and increase the capacity to run more trains more often. Our projects strive to improve the accessibility, amenity and functionality of the area around them and to leave a positive legacy for years to come. We’re also delivering Geelong Fast Rail.
LXRP are part of the Major Transport Infrastructure Authority (MTIA) which was established to oversee major transport infrastructure projects in Victoria.

Over a 2-year program, you'll undertake:
When you join the program, you'll be employed full time at a salary of $74,580 + superannuation (effective from December 2023 – as per VPS EA 2020).
Each year, you'll be entitled to 20 days of annual leave and 15 days of personal leave.
Your workplace will depend on your ‘home’ project; however, you'll generally be located in Melbourne CBD. For those who wish, there may be an opportunity to work in regional Victoria, depending on project requirements.
On completing the program, you will be well-placed to apply for vacant positions within Victoria's Big Build or with our external partners.
