Culture at Diageo

8.6
8.6 rating for Culture, based on 8 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
We have a great culture in the office and out of the office everyone is hardworking, friendly and enjoys each others company. The company is big on teamwork, and we have fantastic opportunities to socialise amongst colleagues.

In the office it is generally quite relaxed and flexible. Quite a flat structure and doesn't feel so hierarchical (refreshing compared to an FMCG I interned at). There is a lot of collaboration between functions, so the ability to work in a team and communicate well is important and well-regarded. Within your own team, people are really supportive and Friday lunchtime people will often go to the pub for a meal. We have a bar at work that is open on Thursday and Friday evenings and people enjoy catching up together over a drink. Its a relaxed way to get to know your colleagues.

Relatively flat hierarchy, strong relationships and positive energy. Being a drinks company, its a social working environment and enjoy socialising during after work.

The line-managers and other management personnel are very accessible and approachable. The entire team makes an effort to lend a hand when necessary as well as set aside time to provide training

The culture around the office is great, from the operators to the admin staff everyone is always welcoming and willing to spend time to help you learn. Like any company there is a clear hierarchy in place, however everyone is treated equally. The management team maintain an open line of communication to all and are always available for people to raise concerns or queries.

Company culture is very good, we had events such as harmony day to celebrate diversity within the team. I was never expected to work overtime - I only extended my hours when there were things I wanted to get done. I'm not sure if this attitude extends beyond my team though.

we are great when it comes to cross-functionality and connecting across departments/teams. I feel like the culture has deteriorated since my time here in sales though, the team feels micromanaged and constantly under the microscope. Socially we are very good - having a fully functioning cocktail bar open on Thursday and Friday in the office definitely does a lot to bring people together at the end of the week and catch up/unwind.
