I have yet to encounter this as I am new to the firm. But from what I hear there are promotion possibilities.

BlackRock is devoted to increasing CSR. We want to be the leading sustainable investment firm in the world. It is especially reflected in our teams and clients who view us as people that want to continue to progress with sustainability. BlackRock also has a 2:1 donation commitment. Employees can get 2 business days of leave to volunteer for charities or communities too.

VERY diverse company, supportive of women with many initiatives, big focus on sustainability and providing for the community. There is also a relatively flat hierarchy, lots of mentoring opportunities, drinks on Fridays, and all-around great culture.

BlackRock is very devoted to diversity. There are multiple groups set up to support various diversity groups e.g. Women Network, LGBTQ+ allies network, etc. There are also a lot of families and new parents who work at BlackRock and it is evident that we are accommodative for their return and see them as valuable members of the firm.

The portfolio analysis and solutions team provides portfolio construction and risk consulting services to help clients build efficient portfolios that can meet their objectives. My day-to-day responsibilities include running analysis on portfolios and preparing presentations for client engagements, thought pieces, and educational campaigns.

My manager is very supportive, open, and always available to help me. He is a great mentor and easily accessible.

Our office is at the heart of the CBD in Martin Place. Building facilities are fantastic. The office is clean, modern, and has killer views. The dress code is actually casual unless you are going to see a client. Most people dress casually, especially on Fridays.

Fill application, video interview, 2 rounds of in-office interviews where the first round I had 3 people then second round I had 2 people and finally offer. People interviewing you were very senior people within the organization from a multitude of teams.

Very competitive and good.

As it is a global company, the official training and orientation happen 6 months after my start date. I have enjoyed just getting stuck into it but am looking forward to the formal orientation.

Workaround 8:45-5:30/6 pm usually but some days I will stay later till 7:30 pm latest.

Our CEO has made this a massive focus for our company. He has discussed this in his annual letter. We have multiple initiatives to improve our environmental investment stewardship. We also aim to be the leading sustainable investment firm in the world.
