Disability Support at Department of Transport and Planning

DTP is committed to providing an inclusive workplace culture where our people are safe, diverse, engaged, valued and high-performing.

DTP is committed to accessibility and inclusion of people with disability, be they staff, customers or stakeholders. 

DTP’s Inclusion & Diversity Strategy 2020-2023 outlines range of initiatives to support accessibility and inclusion for people with disability in the workplace, including:

  • Delivery of disability confidence training and travelling in the shoes of others training to staff annually to foster awareness and disability confidence
  • promote the uptake of workplace adjustments and flexible work, to support staff with disability in the workplace
  • Supporting special measures recruitment
  • Promotion of key international days such as International Day of People with Disability
  • A People with Disability Working Group which runs inclusion initiatives and events throughout the year and provides support and advocacy for staff with disability at DoT.

DTP’s Accessibility Action Plan 2020-2024 outlines our commitment to fostering an accessible, inclusive and disability confident workforce that delivers accessible services to the Victorian community.

The Department has committed to people with disability representing 6% of its workforce by 2020 and 12% by 2025.
