Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders at Reserve Bank of Australia

At the RBA, we are committed to building a more diverse and inclusive culture where all employees are treated with respect throughout their careers.

The Bank’s Frist Nations Employee Resource Group develops and implements practical actions that build respectful relationships with and create opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The First Nations ERG focuses on:

  • Lifting the share of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people employed at the Bank in long-lasting and meaningful careers;
  • Ensuring that the knowledge, skills, attributes and perspectives that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees bring to the Reserve Bank are respected and heard;
  • Promoting an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, communities, cultures, heritage and aspirations within the Reserve Bank; and
  • Recommending, potential areas of investigation or activity where the Bank's expertise or resources could be appropriately employed to the advantage of Indigenous Australians.

Following the successful conclusion of our 2018 Reflect Reconciliation Plan, in 2020, the Bank launched our Innovate phase.
