Gender Equality at Reserve Bank of Australia

At the RBA, we are committed to building a more diverse and inclusive culture where all employees are treated with respect throughout their careers.

The Bank’s Gender Equity Employee Resource Group (ERG) is focused on equity by working toward reducing gender imbalances and ensuring that gender is not an impediment to staff reaching their full potential at the Bank.

The Gender Equity ERG’s aim to promote diversity and inclusion at the Bank by building awareness of gender equity issues, advocating for policy changes and supporting individuals. The ERG's idea of success is 'equity'.

The Gender Equity ERG:

  • Advocates for changes in policy and processes to ensure they are gender neutral.
  • Influences the culture of the Bank by raising awareness of factors such as unconscious bias which can lead to inequality of opportunity for men and women and seek to achieve broad 'buy-in' around the need to address these issues
  • Supports women at the Bank to improve the representation of women in management roles.
